Dead Boy Detectives: Neil Gaiman Spin-Off Series Ordered on HBO Max

HBO continues to dip their toes in comic book material. It's been announced that they streaming service will be adapting Neil Gaiman's Dead Boy Detectives to series. The pilot is now set to begin filming in November with an order based on the characters of Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine. The pair are the ghosts of dead children that investigate paranormal  and supernatural crimes. They first appeared in Sandman #25 in 1991 and have a cult following.

There hasn't been a director announced for the series quite yet but it is set to begin filming in November and will be a one hour series. The detectives will be appearing in the third season of Doom Patrol with their spin-off coming soon after. Sebastian Croft and Ty Tennant have already been cast as Rowland and Paine for Doom Patrol but have not officially been announced as stars for the new series quite yet. However, it's expected that an announcement will be made soon.

We'll update as we hear more about the project.
