She'll Tear Your Soul Apart: L Word and Sense8 Star Jamie Clayton Cast as Pinhead Character in New Hellraiser Movie

 

It's been years in the making, but it looks like the upcoming Hellraiser remake/reboot is finally a real thing. With Clive Barker retaining the rights to his original work The Hellbound Heart, he will be on board as a producer with the remake finally getting done. It's long been reported that they want to restart the franchise with a female in the main role as Pinhead and that looks to be exactly what's happening. This new iteration is being teased as a "loyal,yet evolving re-imagining" of the cenobite story. This new version will be made by Spyglass entertainment. 

Just minutes ago it dropped that L Word: Generation Q star Jamie Clayton will be donning the makeup in the gender swapped Hellraiser movie. She's officially been announced as the new Pinhead. David Bruckner, who recently directed The Night House is aboard the feature film which is apparently set for a 2022 release. 

The original Hellraiser franchise continued spawning sequels until 2018 when a new actor (Paul T. Taylor) played an imitation of Doug Bradley's part. Over the years, the sequels got worse and worse which now means it's time for a full do over with a proper budget. We'll be holding our breath til we see this one.

Clayton’s current role is called Hell Priest (as in the original novella). The movie looks to head to Hulu as a streaming project.
