For classic ‘80s action-adventure movies, Clash of the Titans holds its own for being an epic tale rife with stop-motion fun. Our hero Perseus is joined by many companions along his journey, including the most iconic of the film: Bubo, the mechanical owl! In the film, Athena has Hephaestus replicate her precious companion in mechanical form and sends him to help the hero rescue Princess Andromeda.

The Ray Harryhausen Signature Collection 100th Anniversary is making a 1:1 replica Bubo for your collection. Star Ace Toys, known for its movie-accurate and stylized action figures, along with X-Plus, known for its kaiju collectibles, have joined forces to bring the bird of prey to life. Measuring 30 centimeters tall (just under 12 inches), this replica has accurate articulation in the legs, wings, and head. Two versions are available: the Standard is just the replica Bubo and the Deluxe version includes a 1/6th scale version of Bubo and a polyresin display base. Without spinning eyes, light-up pupils, or functional eye lids, this replica cannot animate as much as it did in the film, but it is poseable enough for an amazing display piece!

The Standard version is $249.99 USD while the Deluxe will run you $274.99 USD. Both versions are up for pre-order now on Star Ace’s site as well as online collectible retailers. Now if I could just understand what he was saying…
