Galactic News: Patty Jenkins' Star Wars Rogue Squadron Delayed Indefinitely

As reported by Deadline, the upcoming Star Wars Rogue Squadron film from Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins has officially been pulled from the production schedule at Disney. Due to her upcoming slate of projects, the Lucasfilm movie has been taken off their list of movies until some of her current work is completed. Initially scheduled to film in 2022, it is now indefinitely delayed as the team behind the movie realized there was absolutely no way she could begin directing the movie next year. This would have been the first Star Wars movie post The Rise of Skywalker and would be the third non-Skywalker film release to hit theaters.

Rogue Squadron had a cinematic release date of December 22, 2023 and while that still remains in place, it's fully expected to change due to this delay. The announcement about the movie was initially made at the Disney Investor Day 2020 with Star Wars fans embracing the idea of another one off film inside the galaxy far, far away. Currently, Jenkins is set to direct a third Wonder Woman movie for Warner Bros.. This was initially meant to film after her Star Wars movie but may shift now as they attempt to make due with her scheduling conflicts.

Obviously, Lucasfilm has their hands full right now with The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan, Indiana Jones 5 and the upcoming Willow sequel.
