A few weeks ago, the internet was ablaze with news that actress Jamie Clayton would be taking up the role of the lead Cenobite in the upcoming retelling of Clive Barker's classic horror novella, The Hellbound Heart. While most articles touted her as the next Pinhead, the information was mostly false or misleading as she won't be a new version of the iconic movie villain but will instead be more true to the Hell Priest from Barker's story.
In the book, the character was not given an official gender. Many horror fans took issue with this replacement while another whole segment is very supportive of this idea as it will break away from the classic Hellraiser film trilogy and will be a fresh spin on the story that was written previously to Pinhead becoming a part of the pop culture landscape in film form.
Today, Clayton took to Instagram to tease the makeup ritual as they ready her for the movie. They don't show any details of the character but instead give a brief look at them performing the cast process. Check it out below!
