My Pot Roast is Ruined: Six Feet Under Spin Off Series in Early Development

HBO's series Six Feet Under remains one of the best television shows of all time and definitely helped launch Michael C. Hall's successful run and return as Showtime's Dexter. Now, after years after its final season, HBO is looking to develop a new series that will be a spin off or continuation of the original show. There is no word yet whether this will be a direct sequel or what their plans are but the new project is in the early stages of development with no writer attached as of this time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming project will be produced by original creator Alan Ball with Bob Greenblatt and David Janollari also attached as executive producers. The original show began in 2001 and ran for five extremely successful seasons and had one of the best series conclusions of all time. In fact, that final episode may even make going forward with any of the existing characters a much harder turn than we can imagine.

Six Feet Under won nine Emmys and was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series three times over the course of its run on HBO. While there is nothing more to report at this time, we'll be anxiously awaiting some more news on this one!

The show dealt with homosexuality head on and was constantly working in themes of loss and death. This could be an interesting time to bring it back!
