A Quiet Place: Pig Director Michael Sarnoski To Direct Next Film in Franchise

After Jeff Nichols left the film in 2021, the studio has been looking for a directorial replacement for its next entry in the A Quiet Place franchise. Today it's been announced that Michael Sarnoski (the director of last year's Pig) will be helming the film for Paramount Pictures. Deadline has just reported that he is all but fully signed on to take over the motion picture. It's said that the next movie will not be another sequel but will move in a new direction and will instead be a spin-off that won't feature the characters from the first two films.

John Krasinski wrote and directed the first two entries but will not be returning for the third other than as a producer. Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will also be onboard in producer roles as the film will be made via Platinum Dunes under Krasinski's Sunday Night banner.

A Quiet Place Part II was one of the first pandemic theatrical only releases and made $57 million in its opening frame and has earned over $297 million worldwide. It's said that Paramount is looking to continue to world build around the franchise and will be releasing several more movies that will serve as additional spin-offs.
