Cobra Kai is one of the biggest hits on Netflix right now. The series which returns us to The Karate Kid franchise blends a heaping pile of nostalgia with corny '80s dialogue and some excellent writing and character development in a show that's firing on all cylinders. The latest season just released on Netflix last weekend and fans are already clamoring for more. There are constant comments on social media demanding the next batch of episodes NOW!!! Luckily enough, all the filming has been completed on season 5, which we guess will probably release sometime around the next New Year's Eve. This seems to be when the streaming giant likes to put this show out for its fans.

Now, the creators behind the show say that they have much more planned and are already working on details for a season 6 and beyond. During a recent interview with Collider, co-showrunner and producer Josh Heald revealed that they're already prepping stories to continue beyond season 5:

"There are characters and storylines that we've considered that, from the beginning, we would have said, 'Okay, that's a season,' and that storyline ended up being an episode or two. And then there's the opposite of that where you say, 'Okay, this is a season,' and now we're going to extend that into multiple seasons. So we've always looked back at our original plan with open eyes because with so many new branches and so many new characters and interactions and what you're seeing during production when, 'Oh wow, these two people together, there's something interesting about that duo,' you want to lean more into it and when you do lean more into it, it naturally pushes other things along and further out. It's changed at times, but it also hasn't. We still have an endgame plan. We're still writing beyond Season 5. But it's been fun to bring in those new characters and storylines and let them lead the way sometimes."

Later, Josh Hurwitz, another one of the folks behind the show iterated that they've always had a plan for 6 seasons. But that they're still coming up with ideas to go further.
