Zack Snyder's dreams of working on a Star Wars film ended up turning into another passion project for the director after he wasn't welcomed aboard the Disney train. The upcoming film will be an homage to old school science fiction action movies and will pay tribute to Star Wars and Akira Kurosawa's film works. The upcoming movie is moving right along and will end up premiering on Netflix as one of their highest budgeted original projects. Snyder also premiered his Army of the Dead on the streaming giant. Zack has seemingly parted ways with WB after the release of his version of Justice League. He appears to have much more creative freedom with Netflix.
Today it was announced that two more actors have joined Rebel Moon. Actors Rupert Friend (Hitman, Anatomy of a Scandal) and Stuart Martin (Army of Thieves) have signed on the movie along with other previously announced stars Sofia Boutella, Ray Fisher, Djimoun Hounsou, Doona Bae, and SOA lead star Charlie Hunnam. The film seems to be getting quite the cast under the lead of Zack Snyder and his creative team.
Currently it's being slated as a space opera and will begin filming this April for release on Netflix some time in 2023.
