I Know What You Are Going To Film This Summer: Paramount and Spyglass Announce Scream 6

Proving that you will still need caller id and that you can't keep a good franchise down, Paramount and Spyglass announced today that a sixth film in the Scream franchise is coming. This is not a major surprise, considering that the new Scream earned good reviews and grossed over 100 million dollars at worldwide box office so far. Judging by those numbers, it was just going to be a matter of time before they announced it. The even better news for is there isn't going to be a decade long wait between the films like there was between 4 and 5.

The sixth installment of the franchise will have the creative team from the successful fifth film back in action behind the camera. Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct, with James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick returning to pen the script. Production is slated to begin this summer. Kevin Williamson, who created the franchise 25 years ago alongside Wes Craven, will return as executive producer on the film.

There is no word yet on who will all be back in Woodsboro for this installment and when it will come out. We imagine we will know more sooner rather than later.
