The incoming gang war is gaining momentum with the sixth chapter of The Book of Boba Fett. The battle for turf on the desert planet is about to get nasty with an iconic villain making his first live action appearance and our Beskar armed Mando officially joining the fight after another off world excursion.

Once again, this week's episode is heavily centered on fan service and the introduction of more characters. The show pushes forward without featuring much of its namesake. While many of us had hoped to see more Boba this time around, we only see him for a brief few seconds as The Mandalorian arrives to help out with a newly assembled team of galactic bad asses. This week's show seems like another diversion in many ways but ultimately serves to set up the finale that's coming in just one week. There's still a lot of ground to cover with only one episode left.

The Book of Boba Fett has been criticized since the start due to some poor writing and inability to gain focus. However, it seems that the creative team behind this project really do have their act together. This is most likely not going to be a long running Star Wars spin-off but is serving as another building block towards a much larger picture. The Disney+ Lucasfilm team are learning from the mistakes of the sequels and pushing forward with stories that are intermingled with the classics but are also creating their own vision of the galaxy far, far away. Luckily for their viewership, we can see what they're aiming for, even at the cost of a few missteps along the way.

Picking up right after last week's The Return of The Mandalorian, we're witnessing the Filoni and his team doing some of their best work to date. Bringing back more elements of the classic films just feels right and works to the advantage of the world building they're attempting to do with TBOBF. We may all need to set aside our grumblings about what they've done with Fett and how he's been sidelined in his very own series because the greater vision is beyond this seven episode story arc.

The direction and writing was tight knit this week bringing in a hard Western vibe that's guiding the show towards a climactic season end. Using a much more advanced deep fake technology, another primary character returns and looks truly phenomenal.
