Welcome To Primetime: Nightmare on Elm Street TV Series, Freddy's Nightmares Coming to Screambox

The highly profitable Nightmare on Elm Street movie series was able to do one thing that so many others weren't. At the peak of its success, it transitioned from the movie screen to television with a Twilight Zone like series called Freddy's Nightmares. The anthology show was not very popular and ended up going off the air after only two seasons. Ever since then it's been missing in action. Well that's all about to change.

Yesterday it was announced that both seasons of the show would be making their way to the horror streaming service Screambox. This will be the first time that it's ever been available to stream. It will premiere on February 15th, this coming Tuesday. It's only ever been available on the home video market via VHS, DVD, and a couple episodes were included in the anthology blu-ray set.

The majority of Freddy's Nightmare episodes were not connected to the movies at all, however a few one-off episodes did feature some Krueger based stories. Its pilot told of Freddy's arrest prior to the Elm Street parents burning him alive.

For NOES fans, this is interesting news and may spark new interest in Freddy Krueger.
