Mega Thrusters Are Go!!!!: Voltron Live Action Movie In The Works, Red Notice Director Developing Film

We've been waiting cautiously for years that a live action Voltron movie would end up happening. And it looks like that day is finally getting nearer.

Today, word broke that Red Notice director Rawson Marshall Thurber is actively developing a take on the classic animated series that will bring it into cinemas. It's actually shocking that this hasn't happened yet! With no studio officially attached, the project is currently being shopped to numerous studios with a demo reel by the director. Currently it's been taken to Amazon Studios, Warner Bros., and Universal all competing for the movie. There's no real word on a time frame at this point as it's still in early development.

Voltron has seen its fair share of action since the '80s. The franchise has been made into several animated series, comic books, and video games. This will be its first jump to live action and apparently the demo reel is pretty amazing since it has so many major studios competing to make the movie.

Currently, Thurber has two Red Notice sequels in pre-production so it will be a little while before anything solid will happen with the project. But it looks like there is some positive momentum.
