After being attached for quite some time now, it was announced today that Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac would no longer be starring in Francis Ford Coppola's long gestating Megalopolis project. According to Showbiz 411, Isaac has left the film and they are currently in the throes of finding a new lead actor to take over the role. It was not announced as to why he left the film but is estimated that it may be due to scheduling conflicts. Isaac's schedule seems to get busier as time goes on.

Megalopolis has been a dream project for Coppola for years and is said to be the director's final outing major motion picture release. The director has tried several times to get the movie made but has consistently had setbacks including financial problems, the 9/11 attacks and more recently the pandemic.

The feature film takes place in a futuristic New York that has been decimated by some form of disaster. A fictional architect wants to rebuild the city as a utopia. It's said to explore many modern themes and will be of the science fiction genre with a massive scope. Numerous other actors are currently attached including James Caan, Forest Whitaker, Cate Blanchett, Zendaya, Jessica Lange and others. However, nothing is fully confirmed other than Isaac abandoning his post.
