Unmask The Truth: The Batman Tie-In Website Teases Hush as Sequel Villain

After several pandemic related delays and fans patiently awaiting the latest incarnation of The Batman, the film hits wide release tomorrow night. It's already getting mostly critical praise across the board as the film finally tries to do something totally different with the Gotham Knight and his gallery of villains. Taking hard strides to separate this film from the Nolan trilogy and the Snyder version of Batman, Matt Reeves offers up a solid three hour epic that's more of a detective story than it is a superhero flick. Going darker than the Nolan franchise, Reeves really feels right and hopefully remains aboard for the upcoming sequels. The Batman has numerous teases for other characters that may appear.

Today it's been revealed that Hush is one of the baddies that's teased on the official tie-in website www.rataalada.com which is a reference to the actual film. When logged in to the site, users are presented with three riddles. The answers are "mask" "renewal" and "confusion" (more references to the movie). When the riddle is solved, it reveals a .zip file which is "promise". When opened, it reveals The Riddler's video which has a direct reference to Hush, one of Batman's other main villains that has never been featured in a live action film.

While this is nothing official, it seems that the world of The Batman will definitely be expanding as this latest movie is expected to dominate the box office for the weeks ahead. Fans of the Batman comic books know that Hush is Thomas Elliot, a former childhood friend of Bruce Wayne that ends up aligning with The Riddler. There's too much mythology to expand on there so we'll digress. But it seems that we may have our first little hint towards The Batman 2.
