All Energy Is Only Borrowed: Remastered Avatar Heads To Theaters This Fall

With the release of Avatar 2's title and first footage came breaking news that the original James Cameron film would be heading back to theaters for a limited run. The record breaking science-fiction action film that held the worldwide record for box office gross for several years is getting a new remaster featuring a better picture and audio. Producer Jon Landau made the announcement today at CinemaCon where most of the movie industry got together for all the latest news, trailers and announcements.

Most of the original cast will be returning for multiple Avatar sequels. As the brand is now owned by Disney, it looks like they have quite the marketing team ready to pounce on getting fan interest back. After 13 years, it seems that many movie fans have waned in their interest for numerous Avatar films. To support the upcoming release of Avatar: The Way of Water, they plan on putting the original back in major theater chains.

The film will be back in cinemas on September 23rd, 2022 as part of their promo campaign leading up the sequel's release on December 16th. Apparently they premiered the first footage and attendees were wowed by what they saw.
