Sales Agent Dogwoof Picks Up David Lynch Wizard of Oz Documentary

After last week's disappointing Cannes news, David Lynch fans are chomping at the bit for something from the eccentric auteur. Whether it be a new movie or show, fans had their hopes raised and then dashed by last week's news. Hopefully, this will soften the blow while we wait to see just what Lynch does next.

U.K.-based sales agent Dogwoof has revealed they have acquired the world sales acquisition rights to Lynch/Oz, a brand new documentary from director Alexandre O. Philippe. The feature documentary is about the influence Victor Fleming’s 1939 film The Wizard of Oz had on the films and artwork of David Lynch. In the film, six American film critics and filmmakers have been given free reign to explore their own thoughts on  the relationship between Lynch and Oz. Included in the film are such lumanries like Karyn Kusama, John Waters, and Amy Nicholson. The documentary aims to offer a fresh perspectives on how artists can be influenced and how inspiration affects the creative process.

The film is premiering at the Tribeca Festival in June. Distribution is still pending but we imagine that someone will pick this up sooner rather than later.
