A red cape and hammer might be the only parallels these heroes share but now they join the ranks of MAFEX figures in their latest announcement of preorders.
The Mighty Thor gets his original comic version duds and likeness, arguably the most recognizable of his Marvel costumes. Boasting a litany of accessories, the options to customize and recreate you favorite funny book moments is extensive. Two swappable portraits, one stern and one baring his teeth, as well as a pose-able fabric cape and stand. The hand and hammer options are impressive, with four left hands and four Mjolnir-holding hands, along with a spinning effect Mjolnir.
As for Dr. John Henry Irons, his addition to the growing Reign of the Supermen line-up is the shiniest yet. The slight but clear contrast of his blue-tinted metallic armor with silver chrome highlights make for a stark silhouette against his posable red cape. Packaged with his singular sledgehammer, the figure will also include a stand, three swappable portraits, two flare effect parts for flight, and an undetermined number of interchangeable hands.
Both one-sixth scale figures are up for preorder now with most online retailers for $104.99 USD and are expected to ship in April 2023. As a safety reminder, never strike two hammers together.
