Burn Them Down With Their Families Inside: Adam Wingard Says April Fools Prank May Lead to The Guest 2

Director Adam Wingard is once again teasing a potential sequel to his cult hit, The Guest. The movie which only grossed $3 million at the box office didn't fare well financially but was a hit with critics and has continued to build up steam as a cult hit. Back on April 1st, Wingard released a soundtrack to The Guest II (a film which doesn't exist) and it seemed to garner more interest in a second film that would see Dan Stevens return to the role of David, a highly trained super soldier. Now, Wingard says there are ongoing talks about giving the film a sequel treatment, but it may not be a movie. It would rather be a streaming series.

When speaking with Empire, Wingard stated that himself and writer Simon Barrett are now in a "creative headspace" and discussing what a sequel would entail:

"It's really pushed me and Simon Barrett into a creative headspace. We're talking about developing a potential sequel as a real project."

He noted that Dan Stevens, "would love to do it.", meaning they've been discussing it with him.

He continued:

" Maybe the more interesting thing isn't doing a sequel to The Guest. Maybe it's doing a limited series, something we could really sink our teeth into."

We'll be waiting further word on whether this project goes anywhere.
