It looks like director Alexandre Aja has his next project lined up. And Halle Berry will take up the lead role in this latest thriller, Mother Land. The guy behind High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes remake and Piranha 3D will be taking up the directorial role for the feature film with Berry cast in the lead role. The movie will be produced by 21 Laps (Stranger Things, Arrival). Berry recently had a support role in John Wick 3 and has decades of work behind her including an Oscar for best actress in 2001's Monster's Ball. She recently starred in Parabellum and will be featured in the Netflix movie, The Mothership

The story of Mother Land tells the tale of two young twin boys "who have been tormented by an evil spirit for years. When one of the boys questions if the evil is real, the family's secret bond is broken and it becomes a fight for survival." This sounds eerily similar to several other horror movies we've seen the past few years, but will hold judgement until we see it.

Currently, the project is expected to go into production next year. We'll obviously update as we hear more!
