The Last, Last Crusade: Kathleen Kennedy Says No Indiana Jones Without Harrison Ford

It looks like the Indiana Jones movie franchise will end with the upcoming fifth entry. After years of waiting, another movie featuring the famed adventurer will come to cinemas some time next year. Despite a perfect conclusion with The Last Crusade, Lucasfilm has continued on with the character as the last entry Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released to a mixed reaction from viewers and critics alike. The movie was a box office hit even with many decrying its treatment of the characters and legacy of Dr. Jones. With the latest movie coming out in the very near future, many have wondered if we would see any continuation of Indiana Jones after its release. Well, Kathleen Kennedy says this will be it for the movies.

Yesterday, news was revealed where she was quoted as saying that classic Star Wars characters shouldn't be recast after the supposed failure of Solo: A Star Wars Story. The statement itself was hypocritical considering that numerous characters have been recast in the prequels and beyond. However, in the interview with Vanity Fair, she states that no actor will play Indiana Jones in the movies, beyond Harrison Ford in this closing chapter:

"Some people have talked about how, well, maybe Solo should have been a TV show. But even doing Solo as a TV show without Harrison Ford as Han Solo...it's the same thinking. Maybe I should have realized this before. We would never make Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford. Having just finished the fifth movie, I can tell you, there wasn't a day I wasn't on set where I wasn't like, 'Yes, this is Indiana Jones'".

It sounds like after 40 years, Indy will have his final adventure.
