Man On Fire: Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning Reteam for The Equalizer 3

It's been 20 years since Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning starred in the action/revenge thriller, Man on Fire which was directed by the late Tony Scott. Now, the two will be reunited for the upcoming Equalizer 3, directed by Antoine Fuqua. The first two Equalizer films were minor hits for the studio, so of course they want to continue that trend with a third movie about Robert McCall, a man with a very specific set of skills. No real details have been released regarding the plot of the film yet, but we're sure Denzel will be kicking ass and taking names.

The Equalizer is based on the CBS television series and made its transition to film with the 2014 movie which grossed $194 million worldwide. The sequel came very close with another $190 million at the worldwide box office. It's understood why they want to continue. It will undoubtedly make more money.

Fuqua has a long history of crime and action movies. This will be the first time that Fanning and Washington have paired since since 2004's Man on Fire, which was a remake of a 1987 film starring Scott Glenn.

The Equalizer 3 is set to hit cinemas on September 3, 2023.
