More Than Meets The Eye: Michael Bay's Transformers Returning to Theaters for 15th Anniversary

Despite dwindling creative returns over the course of the sequels, Michael Bay's original Transformers movie still has a large following and is a visual effects stand out.

Now, in celebration of the film's 15th anniversary it will get a chance to see the film in cinemas all over again. The movie which starred Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Josh Duhamel went on to be a massive box office hit and spawned an entire franchise, which of course slid off the rails. Eventually the series got a soft reboot with Bumblebee. The movie is being brought back to theaters via Paramount Pictures and Fathom Events on both Sunday, July 10th and Thursday, July 14th 2022.

At the time of its release, Bay's Transformers went on to gross over $319 million in the U.S. with an additional $389 million from foreign receipts bringing its tally to $708 million total. It was also a massive hit on home video claiming over $303 million in DVD and Blu-Ray sales. It still stands out as the best in the original series and also made Shia LaBeouf a major Hollywood player at the time and brought Megan Fox a level of stardom she hadn't seen before.

We may have to check this out when it's back in theaters!
