The Joke's On Us...Again: Todd Philips Confirms Joker Sequel Is Coming

After becoming a global phenomenon and a best actor Oscar for Joaquin Phoenix, Todd Philips' Joker is officially getting a sequel. It's been rumored for the last couple years that DC and WB would team up for another movie about the alternate version of the Clown Prince of Crime and now its been verified by Philips himself. Philips revealed today that the script is complete and even shared a photo of Phoenix reading it, which is nearly verification that the actor will be returning to the role. The new script is titled Joker: Folie a Deux. Whether or not that name sticks remains to be seen.

Joker was part of WB's expanded universe of DC based movies but is not tied into the chronology of their main timeline which featured Henry Cavill, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck. They're continuing to expand with new movies including the sequel to The Batman
