It's been reported via Deadline earlier today that WB's sequel to their popular relaunch of Dune has officially received a minor scheduling delay. Dune: Part Two, the second half of Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of the classic science fiction story has been pushed back nearly a month on the release schedule. The film which was set to premiere in theaters on October 20, 2023 has now been moved to November 17, 2023. Considering the delays many movies saw during the pandemic, this really isn't too much of a big deal. And by now we understand how Warner Bros. likes getting their big theatrical releases into cinemas just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.

This does put Dune: Part Two in direct competition with several other big names including the new Hunger Games prequel and Trolls 3. However, Villeneuve's sequel will be heading to IMAX as well, which will obviously help its numbers.

Timothy Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and many others are returning for the sequel. New additions to the cast include Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and breakout star of Elvis, Austin Butler. There are numerous other Dune projects in the works at this time including a television series.
