Attack The Block Again: Joe Cornish and John Boyega Teaming Up For Story, Project Moving Ahead

For years, we've been hoping for a sequel to the cult horror sci-fi flick, Attack The Block. Last year it was announced that director Joe Cornish was attempting to get the sequel made and then came the official announcement that the film would be happening if all the stars aligned properly. Well, that seems to be the case as Cornish and John Boyega are officially working on developing the story together. Boyega has a brand new release, Breaking which is getting great reviews across the board right now and it seems that the time may be right to finally get some momentum moving on the project.

When speaking with Collider, Boyega had this to say about Attack the Block 2:

"The story has actually been presented by myself and Joe Cornish. We’ve collaborated heavily on making a story that makes sense for Moses and the other characters, and the new characters that will be coming up in the sequel too. And then, also, there’s different perspectives in writing it, with Joe having his perspective and me having mine. London has changed so much, in so many different ways, over the years since the first movie. We’re just trying to make sure we explore all of that, while bringing in a whole different vibe to that crazy ass first movie that we made.”

It sounds like they may finally have the formula to get their sequel made. We'll be holding out hope because the original really is in a class of its own.
