Funeral For A Batgirl: There Are Rumored Private Screenings of Scrapped DC Movie

With the cancellation of DC and WB's Batgirl still weighing heavy on the those that made the film, it's being reported that there have been private screenings being held on the studio lot for folks that worked on the project. It's said by several sources including ScreenRant that the Leslie Grace starring Batgirl film is being given a funeral parade of sorts as the movie has been pulled altogether from the release schedule as the studio decided to tax a massive tax break for pulling the plug on its release.

Due to the Warner Bros. Discovery merger things are changing at a frenetic pace with studioheads axing several upcoming projects including the nearly complete Batgirl. The decision is not sitting well with the creatives behind the movie as even they were locked out from stored footage on the WB servers.

The film which wrapped filming back in March was to see another appearance of Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman but will never see the light of day if their decision stands. Grace was starring as Barbara Gordon and was to take over as protector of Gotham City in this expanded version of the DC Universe.

It's being reported by numerous sources that the crew of the film has been given privileges to screen the movie in private. No one from the studio has made any comment about this news yet. The film was still in post production, so what they'd be watching is still an unfinished cut. Hopefully for them, the movie will one day see the light of some type of limited release, whether its digital or not.
