The Return of Moviepass: Subscription Service Sets Its Relaunch

After a troublesome few years, it looks like MoviePass (the movie ticket subscription service) is finally making its next attempt at bringing back their membership plan. Starting this week on Thursday, folks will be able to sign of for their Beta Plan which will be available by limited invite only. Apparently, they'll be coming back with a new tiered plan which will offer different subscription levels. The timer is currently counting down on their website www.moviepass.com. Unfortunately, due to a terrible string of bad business decisions and an app that was riddled with flaws, they may have a troubled road ahead of them.

Currently, it looks like the plans will be set at $10, $20, and $30 levels. Each tier will offer credits towards purchasing movie tickets. We're not quite sure what major theater chains will be accepting the app based service at this time but we're imagining they may have a struggle on that front as well. Numerous chains have their very own subscription services that closely rival what Moviepass initially offered on their original membership plans.

There is currently a documentary in the works under Mark Wahlberg's Unrealistic Ideas production brand that will chronicle the rise and fall of the company.
