Waka Waka Waka: Pac-Man Live Action Film In The Works

Just when we thought they couldn't sink any lower, it's been announced that a live action Pac-Man movie is in the early stages of development. Yes, that's what we said. They're making a live action Pac-Man movie. How on earth will that even work? We don't know but Hollywood is gonna cash in on the classic video game now. Wayfarer Studios and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. are pairing up for the upcoming transition to film. Considering Pac-Man had no narrative at all, we're imagining a movie that features 90 minutes of someone eating little dots.

Chuck Williams (Sonic the Hedgehog, Brother Bear) has apparently written a screenplay for Pac-Man: The Movie. Yes, this sounds utterly outrageous and just another way to milk one of the biggest video game brands of all times. Ever since its release in the '80s, Pac-Man has seen numerous iterations including cartoons, several games and spin-offs, and tons of merchandise. We're still trying to imagine how this thing will even work.

We'll be in a corner holding out hope that they can come up with some good ideas for this project. There is no release date scheduled quite yet. We'll announce more as we hear news.
