Interview with the Vampire: AMC Series Renewed For Season 2

Ahead of the release of season one, the new series based on Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire has already received a season two renewal. The show is set to premiere on AMC and their streaming service AMC+ on October 2nd. Apparently the execs behind the series have a good feeling about this new iteration of the vampire tale.

The first filmed version of Rice's novel was the 1994 Oscar nominated film that starred Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Antonio Banderas, Christian Slater and a young Kirsten Dunst. The movie was a huge hit at cinemas but never received a proper sequel. Rice's Queen of the Damned was also turned into a film but didn't receive the same amount of success as its predecessor.

The first season of Interview with the Vampire is a short eight episodes and will retell the story of Lestat de Lioncourt and Louis de Pointe du Lac as they live a timeless existence focused on 1900 New Orleans.
