The Nun was quite possibly the worst spinoff in the entire Conjuring cinematic universe. But that didn’t stop it from making a killing at the box office a few years ago. Now the creators behind the original 2018 feature are hard at work on a sequel in the haunted nun franchise.
Today it was announced that Taissa Farmiga will be returning to her role as Sister Irene in the scary sequel. She will star alongside Storm Reid who will be the lead actor in the film.
Currently, The Nun 2 is set to begin shooting during October for what will most likely be a 2023 release.
Michael Chaves is signed on to direct the feature. He lost recently helmed The Conjuring 3. The film is said to once again take place in the 1950’s but other details remain unknown at this time.
The Conjuring and its related movies have grossed over $2 billion worldwide.
