Enter The Sisterhood: Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson Join Dune Spin-off Series at HBO Max

With all the drama that's taken place with HBO Max and Discovery the past few months, it seemed that all may have been lost as far as some big spin-off projects go. Things seemed to go fully silent with WB's planned series, The Sisterhood which is a direct offshoot of the Dune series. Today it's been announced that the show is moving forward with casting finally starting to take place. It's been revealed that Emily Watson (Chernobyl, God's Creatures) and Shirley Henderson (Harry Potter) have both boarded the cast of the upcoming series that's being developed for HBO Max.

“Watson and Henderson will portray Valya Harkonnen and Tula Harkonnen, respectively, the formidable Harkonnen Sisters, who have risen to power in the Sisterhood, a secret organization of women who will go on to become the Bene Gesserit.”

The show will take place "10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides and follows the Harkonnen sisters who have risen to power in The Sisterhood".

This project was announced while Villeneuve's Dune Part One was still in production. Initially it was planned for him to direct the first two episodes but he eventually backed out due to scheduling conflicts on Dune Part Two.
