After endless speculation, Henry Cavill has clarified his future as Superman. Cavill took to Instagram to confirm that he is back as Superman. The actor shared a video to the platform demonstrating his commitment to playing the DC hero in future films.
Attached to the video was this caption: "I wanted to make it official — I am back as Superman. Here's a very small taste of what’s to come, my friends. The dawn of hope renewed. Thank you for your patience, it will be rewarded." Cavill's return has been long anticipated by fans ever since his last appearance six years ago in 2017's Justice League.
Fans have waited for years to see him return to the role. Even other DC talents like Dwayne Johnson wanted Cavill back to face off against him. “We’ve established Black Adam as the most powerful and unstoppable force on our planet. But the fans have been so passionate about, as we have been, where’s the most unstoppable force in the universe?” Johnson said in the lead-up to the release of this weekend's Black Adam.
It is not clear where or when we will see Superman next but given this announcement...it will be sooner rather than later.
