It appears that Sydney Sweeney's spotlight is getting brighter. The actress that's been making a name for herself on HBO's teenage drama series, Euphoria has just signed on to take over the role of a classic sci-fi character. Sweeney has boarded a Barbarella reboot that will be produced by Sony Films.
The film which is based on the French comic book was first adapted to the silver screen in the classic starring Jane Fonda. The movie chronicles a female space adventurer who attempts to stop a scientist that's designed a new deadly weapon. The news of a reboot comes tonight via Deadline. Although they've been trying to get this made for years, it's finally getting off the ground. Initially, Robert Rodriguez was set to direct with Rose McGowan taking over the role.
But now, it's been shifted to Sydney Sweeney who will take up the role of Barbarella. We'll update as we hear more.
