Restless Dreams: New Silent Hill Games and Live Action Movie Announced

What is dead is never really dead. Franchises never die or end, they just lie dormant. After years of silence, the Silent Hill franchise just woke up in a major way. 

Konami has announced the grand return of the Silent Hill franchise. First, they announced a remake of the iconic Silent Hill 2The Silent Hill 2 remake is available to add to your wishlist on PS5 right now, it is being developed by the beloved studio Bloober Team, and will be exclusive to PlayStation and PC for 12 months after launch. Two more game projects were announced as well. Silent Hill Towerfall and Silent Hill Ascension. Details were scarce about Towerfall but Ascension is due out in 2023 and looks like it will be similar in style to games like Until Dawn

And finally, Konami announced that Silent Hill will be headed back to the cinemas. The film is tentatively titled Return to Silent Hill. The film will be a direct sequel to the 2006 film. The director of the 2006 adaptation, Christophe Gans, is returning to direct this new film. There is no word yet on when or who will be releasing the film but it is on the way. It is an exciting time to be a Silent Hill fan.
