Award Season Horror: Terrifier 2 Submitted for Academy Award Consideration

One of the goriest horror films of 2022 and one of the lowest budgeted horror releases of the year has attempted to enter the Academy Awards for consideration in several categories. The micro budget horror sequel has drummed up over $8 million in its limited theatrical run and is now available to stream on Screambox for free. The movie that only cost about $250k to make is a major success for its production studio and had a successful mini run at theaters in the U.S..

Today it was revealed that the film has been submitted for three different Oscars by Bloody Disgusting. Managing director Brad Miska knows it doesn't stand a chance but thinks it's a great joke. He was quoted, " No. It will never actually happen. Yes. It's a total goof."

The film was submitted for the visual effects category, lead actor David Howard Thornton and lead actress Lauren LaVera.

This was Art the Clown's third on screen appearance. He first appeared in the 2013 anthology All Hallow's Eve and reprised the evil clown in the first Terrifier several years later. His third appearance is in this year's Terrifier 2. We're sure they're drumming up ideas for a third right now.
