There appears to be big news in the Alien galaxy today. A long discussed Alien movie that's been in the works from director Fede Alvarez appears to have received a jump start with actress, Cailee Spaeny boarding the project in the lead role. There are few details known about the project at this point but it's said to be a new movie launch for the series. Spaeny recently starred in The Craft: Legacy and had a lead role in Devs

The film is currently slated to be produced by Ridley Scott's Scott Free brand and will obviously be released by 20th Century Fox. With no details about the story revealed as of this post, they're looking to begin filming in 2023. It's said that this will be unconnected to the previous Alien movies and will branch out the franchise as a whole. It's said that Alvarez had the idea for this movie for years and personally pitched it to Scott who assisted in getting it green lit.

Spaeny also had roles in Pacific Rim: Uprising and Bad Times at El Royale. She'll be starring as Priscilla Presley in the upcoming biopic Priscilla from Sofia Coppola.
