Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has proven to be quite a hit for Marvel Studios and Disney. The sequel and follow-up to the original Black Panther is continuing to do well at the box office with its only main contender being James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water. While the blue alien people continue to rack up huge numbers at the global box office, Marvel's newest release is racking up its very own records. Wakanda Forever is now the highest grossing female led superhero film to be released in the United States.

The film has crossed the $435 million mark, beating previous records held by Captain Marvel at $426 million domestically, Wonder Woman's U.S. numbers of $412.8 million and Black Widow's $183.65 million on home turf. This further proves Marvel's stranglehold on the box office and assures the execs at Disney that their brand is safe despite the untimely death of Chadwick Boseman.

Actress Letitia Wright's role was obviously expanded due to the real life death of their main actor, but Wright recently revealed that Marvel Studios had plans all along to expand Shuri's role and she would have taken up the mantle beside her fictional brother simultaneously with Boseman.
