Maika Monroe has officially signed on for Osgood Perkins next horror/thriller outing, Longlegs. Monroe's character will be hunting down a serial killer played by none other than Nicolas Cage, an actor that continues to thrive in his creative comeback. Perkins (the son of late actor Anthony Perkins) has previously directed several other horror films including independent features The Blackcoat's Daughter and Gretel & Hansel. Monroe is set to play the protagonist in his latest feature film where she will star opposite Cage.
There aren't many details about the film at this point other than this short synopsis:
"FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). A the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family."
Longlegs is currently filming in Vancouver. We'll update as we hear more!
Nicolas Cage has recently said his character in the film is like a "possessed Geppetto".
