Roughly two years ago, it was announced that HBO would be revamping and revitalizing two of their most popular series. Both Six Feet Under and True Blood were both lined up for new series that would continue on with new lifeblood. Well, times have certainly changed. HBO Max's content CEO Casey Bloys has announced that both show ideas have been axed and are no longer happening, he told Variety. While both had been reported on, the Six Feet Under revival was never formerly announced.

Bloys says that it was never really in the works but was more so something that got passed around in the rumor mill. However, the True Blood relaunch was officially in the cards but Bloys says that some scripts and treatments were written "but nothing that felt like it got there".

Both True Blood and Six Feet Under were huge hits on the cable outlet and were definitely precursors to the major shift we see in dramatic shows and the way we watch them. Six Feet Under is still known for having one of the best finales ever and remains a massive cult hit. The show went on to win nine Emmys, three Screen Actors Guild awards and won the Peabody Award.
