The Duffer Bros have announced that they will be executive producing a new series on Netflix. Their newest project, The Boroughs is said to be a supernatural mystery series and has been ordered to series by the streaming giant. The show is said to mix science fiction along with horror elements. It's created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance).
Here's a brief synopsis that was released for the series that looks to blend elements of Stranger Things and the classic '80s film, Cocoon:
In a seemingly picturesque retirement community in the New Mexico desert, a group of unlikely heroes must band together to stop and otherworldly threat from stealing the one thing they don't have.....time.
Currently there are 8 episodes ordered. The project is from the Duffers and Netflix and their collaboration label Upside Down Productions.
