With an Oscar win for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once in her rearview mirror, Michelle Yeoh will be returning to her role from Star Trek: Discovery series in an event film from Paramount+. Just announced earlier today, Yeoh will be returning to the Star Trek universe as Emperor Philippa Georgiou in a feature film titled Star Trek: Section 31. This will be the first televised movie project from Paramount+ and shows their continuing dedication to producing new Trek content for the streaming outlet.
Yeoh was quoted as saying this about the project:
"I am thrilled to return to my Star Trek family and to the role I've loved for so long. Section 31 has been near and dear to my heart since I began the journey of playing Philippa all the way back when this golden age of Star Trek launched."
Star Trek: Section 31 will be directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi from a screenplay written by Craig Sweeny. We don't have a confirmed date of release yet but will update as we hear more.
