The upcoming Blade reboot at Marvel Studios has been dealt another blow. The film which has been in development hell for nearly two years is now being slowed down by the current writer's strike. Production was set to start in Atlanta in the coming weeks but has once again been shuttered due to the strike which just began this week.

The movie has seen multiple problems including scripting that has been taken over by True Detective's Nic Pizzolatto. He was reworking the original script by Michael Starrbury, but people on the production have stated that, "time simply ran out". Now the feature will see another long delay as the strike continues on.

The film is being directed by Yann Demange, who recently made the White Boy Rick film. Release is currently set for September 6th, 2024 but may end up being delayed if the strike lingers on for too long.

The Hollywood Reporter had a story on the troubling news earlier today and has been confirmed.
