With his Flash hitting theaters tonight, it looks like Andy Muschietti will be helming an all new Batman film for the relaunched DC Film Universe. As James Gunn takes over the entire cinematic universe and course corrects WB's take on the expansive comic book world, The Brave and the Bold is one of the next movies up to bat. And it just scored its director. Batman: The Brave and the Bold will be based on the comic series written by Grand Morrison.

Andy's sister Barbara is also on board in a producer role for the feature film via their label Double Team, with Gunn and Safran also on board as producers.

"We saw The Flash even before taking the reins at DC Studios, and knew we were in the hands of not only a visionary director but a massive DC fan," Gunn told Variety.

The Brave and the Bold will be the first live screen iteration of Robin since Chris O'Donnell portrayed the character last in the 1997 movie, Batman and Robin. This is a totally separate take on Batman from the current take played by Robert Pattinson and will exist inside the official new chronology for the rebooted DCEU.

It has not been announced who will be playing Bruce Wayne/Batman. But we're sure casting is underway.
