Having not learned from past mistakes, Disney is looking to reboot one of their biggest cinematic failures. Back in 2012, the Mouse House released a live action John Carter Of Mars movie starring Taylor Kitsch. The movie, although way better than the critical consensus, was a major box office disappointment, costing the studio millions of dollars in lost revenue. However, they've not really learned their lesson. They're currently looking to reboot the John Carter franchise with Kenneth Branagh reportedly set to direct.

In the story, John Carter is a fictional Virginian soldier who is transported to Mars. When he reaches the planet, he becomes involved in war with alien foes. He was originally introduced by author Edgar Rice Burroughs but would eventually expand out into several forms of media including comic books based on the character. John Carter, Warlord of Mars was a comic series that was published by Marvel in 1977. He first appeared in the 1912 novel, A Princess of Mars.

There are currently conflicting reports. Some insiders say it's going to be a movie and others are reporting that it will be a new film series. We'll update as we hear more.
