As Disney continues to struggle at the box office this year with two possible box office failures, it looks like Lando Calrissian will be making a return to the smaller screen. That's right. It's been formally announced that the once rumored Lando show will be coming to the Disney+ streaming service. Donald Glover and his brother Stephen Glover have signed on to write the series for the outlet. The Haunted Mansion's director Justin Simien was initially on board the project but is no longer part of the development for Disney.

Lando Calrissian was of course first played by Billy Dee Williams in The Empire Strikes Back. The character was later played by Donald Glover in Solo:A Star Wars Story and did a phenomenal job as a younger version of the character.

Apparently they've been in talks for months trying to get the details worked out. And there is finally a deal for the show to move forward. This has been something that's been rumored since the release of Solo, but due to some creative struggles in the Star Wars camp nothing seemed to ever come of it.

This will be another addition to the long line of original Star Wars series that include The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan, The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, and the upcoming Ahsoka series.
