Well, no one saw this one coming. But it looks like Charles Band is hoping to get his classic adventure science fiction film series turned into a rebooted television series on one of the major streaming platforms. Posted earlier on JoBlo, Band was revealed to be working on a reboot of Trancers that would see the character of Jack Deth making his return on the small screen. This is what Band had to say about the potential series:
"We have a couple of really interesting possible reboot deals brewing. Now, of course, everything's slowed down or stopped because of the writer's strike and the SAG strike, but in time they'll turn around, and it will be nice to see some of these movies like Trancers, which is one of them, get made. In the case of Trancers, into a really well appointed series on one of the bigger services."
While this doesn't solidify anything, it would be an interesting idea and a good one to reboot. The original low budget film series 6 films from 1984 to 2002. Tim Thomerson starred as the lead, Jack Deth. As late as 2009, Thomerson said they were going to do a seventh iteration of the series, but it never came to fruition.
