Years ago, Zack Snyder was actively developing an idea for the Star Wars film universe. When things didn't pan out, Snyder packed up his ideas and decided to make his very own set of action science fiction films that would be heavily influenced by George Lucas' galaxy. Working on the films for the last two years, we've finally been granted a trailer for the two part series and just a couple hours ago, the titles were officially revealed on the internet.
The first movie which will release on Netflix on December 22, 2023 is officially titled Rebel Moon Part 1: A Child of Fire. The sequel that will be on the streaming service on April 19th, 2024 is called Rebel Moon Part 2: The Scargiver.
"When I pitched it to Netflix, the scale was a thing they wanted," he told Empire Magazine, "They were like, 'Well, how big could it be? How many movies?' That made me go, 'Okay, if we really do this, we can sink our teeth pretty deep into this. We can't really hit the bottom."
The film set already has a mythology that Snyder and crew have developed that extends far beyond the two films that includes a 450 page "bible" that's considered canon in this universe that would and will probably be made into tv shows, sequels, and an upcoming video game.
