It appears that director Zack Snyder is never happy with his released films because he says a director's cut of his Netflix two part movie, Rebel Moon will be happening. And he says that the longer version of the first movie will feature over an hour of additional footage. Snyder says that one cut will be something "anyone can enjoy and watch", and that the extended release will take fans on a "deeper, and harder dive" into the universe he's created.

Snyder said when speaking with Tudum:

"The director's cut is close to an hour of extra content, so I think it's a legitimate extended universe version. You really get to see a lot. It's just more painted-in all the way. The director's cut is a settle-in deep dive which I have notoriously done throughout my career. I don't know how I got into this director's cut thing, but what I will say about it is that, for me, the director's cuts have always been something I had to fight for in the past and nobody wanted it. It was this bastard child that I was always trying to put together because tey felt like there was a deeper version. And with Netflix, we shot scenes just for the director's cut."

Snyder is well known for going back after the fact and adding to his completed projects. His director's cut of Batman v Superman added footage back into the film. His cut of Justice League was legendary for WB allowing him to finally release his vision for the DC Universe prior to James Gunn taking over and rebooting the entire thing.
