The Halloween season is upon us and it looks like horror is heading back to the theaters. Along with numerous creepy movies, Rob Zombie's 2003 House of 1000 Corpses will be coming back to theaters celebrating its 20th anniversary. It will be part of Fathom Events' Fright Fest lineup of horror flicks. It will be back in theaters for two days only, October 8th and October 11th.
This was Zombie's first cinematic release and directly inspired by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. House of 1000 Corpses was the first film in Firefly trilogy, the latter two being The Devil's Rejects and the closing chapter which came out after Sid Haig's death, 3 From Hell. Zombie's wife, Sheri Moon starred in all three movies along with Haig and Bill Moseley.
Despite none of them being big box office successes, Zombie rallied quite a cult following behind the movies and eventually finished their story in 2019. He currently has no plans to release any more films about the Firefly family. In fact, he's been busy ruining classic franchises like The Munsters and should have his directorial duties fully revoked.
